Early Years Curriculum

At Nursery Hill we want our children to reach their full potential. We have designed our curriculum to develop well-rounded, confident, and responsible individuals who aspire to achieve their full potential. Our Early Years curriculum is built around this vision and is delivered through the seven areas of learning using exciting and inspiring topics.

We believe that children learn best through play, so we create a rich and engaging environment where play is at the heart of everything we do. Learning through play allows children to explore, experiment, and develop key skills in a way that feels natural and fun.

We plan our activities around the children’s individual interests, ensuring that each child is engaged and excited about what they are learning. This personalised approach helps foster curiosity and a love for learning, while also supporting each child’s unique developmental needs.

We also use a high-quality phonics programme to support early literacy development. Our phonics scheme is designed to be interactive and enjoyable, helping children develop essential reading and writing skills from a young age.

In addition to this, we believe in the importance of outdoor learning. We take advantage of our wonderful forest area to encourage children to explore nature, develop physical skills, and learn about the world around them. Outdoor learning helps to build confidence, resilience, and teamwork, all while promoting a healthy lifestyle.
