Geography

At Nursery Hill Primary School, we understand that a geography education equips children with the knowledge they need to make sense of the world’s complexity and diversity and so has never been so relevant.

Our Primary Geography Curriculum aims to develop in our pupils a life-long curiosity and fascination about the world in which they live and the people that they share it with. It provides thorough coverage of all of the necessary National Curriculum objectives for Geography across Key Stages 1 and 2 and ensures progression of knowledge and skills across year groups, phases and key stages from 4 interwoven strands: Locational Knowledge, Place Knowledge, Human and Physical Geography and Geographical Skills and Fieldwork.

Our curriculum is delivered through a series of Geography schemes of work arranged across the Autumn, Spring and Summer terms for all year groups from Year 1 to Year 6 (one scheme of work per term, per year group).
